Grandma’s Pantry (in Czech Babiččina spíž) is a dedicated gluten free bakery near Republic Square in Prague 1. You’ll find it in a passageway between Revoluční and Hradební Streets. All their products are not only gluten free but also sugar free. Some are vegan.
A Little Bit of Everything
The selection at Grandma’s Pantry is very nice and includes both sweet and savory options. For example, you can enjoy homemade biscuits, fruit pies, muffins, or apple strudel. This is also the only place we know about that makes gluten free donuts. They’re at their best when fresh out of the oven, so it pays to find out from the bakery when fresh donuts are going to be available.
Homemade gluten free bread and baguettes are another staple at this bakery. We particularly like the walnut bread.
Birthdays and Holidays
If you need a gluten free birthday cake, the people at Babiččina spíž will be happy to make one for you. It is fine to place an order just a few days before your party. Take a look at the photo gallery to get inspired!
Over the years, we have experienced that finding seasonal gluten free goodies is one of the more challenging tasks. Fortunately, Babiččina spíž is here to help! Thanks to them, you can enjoy traditional Easter and Christmas breads and pastries without gluten. Watch their Facebook page to find out when orders can be made.
Lunches and Snacks
The menu at this Prague gluten free bakery wouldn’t be complete without their light lunches. Choose a walnut or white baguette filled with cheese, eggs, sun-dried tomatoes or tempeh. If you prefer something warm, you can get a vegan burger or hot dog filled with Beyond Meat. For a fun lunch outdoors, you can order a complete gluten free picnic basket in the summer.
If you decide to shop in person, you can take your purchases to go or enjoy them right at the bakery along with a cup of coffee. Alternatively, you can place an order online and either pick it up or have it delivered.

1 Reviews on “Grandma's Pantry: A Prague Gluten Free Bakery”
We’ve been doing a lot of home cooking lately and it’s getting a bit old. To bring our spirits up, we decided it was time to treat ourselves to some dessert – that we didn’t have to make! We ordered a few gluten free pastries from Babiččina spíž. It had been a while since we shopped there last and the bakery recently underwent some changes, so it felt a little bit like trying out a new place.
Ordering through Uber Eats was easy and delivery was super fast. Once our order was submitted, it took about 20 minutes for the car to pull up in front of our building. It would have taken us longer to just get to Babiččina spíž from our house.
Our order included two gluten free donuts, a slice of gluten free apple strudel, a generous slice of gluten free apple & red currant pie, and a loaf of gluten free walnut bread.
We were most curious about the donuts. We hadn’t found gluten free donuts anywhere in Prague before. These are oven baked and denser than your typical donut. They are also less sweet, which we appreciate. All in all, they’re tasty but if you’re looking for an equivalent to a regular donut, these are not quite the thing. It should be added that our donuts were made on the previous day, which we knew when ordering, so they weren’t at their freshest. We’ll definitely try to buy them fresh next time.
Both the apple strudel and fruit pie were very enjoyable, nice and tart, and rich in fruit. We’d order both again.
The bread, which we bought as an afterthought, was possibly the best part of the order for us! If you like walnuts, try it! We’re already looking forward to breakfast. 🙂
