Angelato: Prague Gluten Free Ice Cream Shops

Angelato is one of the first Prague gluten free ice cream shops. (To be exact, not everything in the store is gluten free, but it’s pretty close.) This family owned artisan ice cream and sorbet manufacturer has been making amazing ice cream and sorbets since 2007. In fact, many consider this gelateria to be the best in Prague.

Every day, the people at Angelato make small batches of ice cream and sorbets by hand. Therefore, every flavor you buy here is always fresh. The company uses only natural, fresh ingredients and sources them from small Czech or other European farmers. None of the products contain artificial ingredients, preservatives, flavor enhancers or colors.

Quality and great taste are number one at Angelato. As a result, you can enjoy fun seasonal flavors throughout the year as different fruits, vegetables, and even herbs come into season. And since the Angelato team likes to be creative, some of the flavors are downright unique. Based on the season and availability, you can taste pumpkin, rice, rhubarb, elderflower, avocado, olive, lavender, or nettle ice cream. All the ice cream flavors except the cookie ice cream are gluten free. In addition, all the sorbets are lactose free. The Angelato website shows an easy-to-read list of allergens that are present in each flavor. If you like your ice cream in a cone, you can ask for a gluten free one. It will come individually wrapped. We find this to be a small, but important touch. Celiacs will understand.

At the moment, this Prague gluten free ice cream shop has four locations around town. The two downtown shops at Rytířská and Újezd are closed in January and February. The two in Břevnov and Dejvice are open year round.
