Café Wafflé is a nice and friendly café that makes delicious gluten free waffles in Prague 2-Vinohrady. It is run by a mother and daughter as a cozy family café. We love coming here for a lazy weekend brunch of waffles and cappuccino. If we feel especially lazy, we call our order in and get it to go. 🙂
As is clear from the name, waffles are the staple here. They are a great option for breakfast, brunch or an afternoon snack. You can choose from several waffle varieties on the menu. If you can’t decide or if you feel creative, you can build your own waffle. Simply ask for one of the printed forms, check your preferred type of batter, toppings, and sauce(s), and hand it to your server. Your waffle can be made with sweet or savory toppings.
HOW IS GLUTEN HANDLED?
Café Wafflé makes both regular and gluten free waffles. The gluten free batter goes in its own waffle maker. Also, the GF waffles are handled with separate utensils during preparation to avoid cross-contamination. Make sure all the toppings are gluten free when ordering off the menu or building your own waffle. Allergens are not listed on the build-your-own-waffle order form, so don’t assume you can choose any of the toppings and sauces. It’s best to confirm with the staff who can check their list of allergens for you.
Besides waffles, you can order a few other items from the menu, such as eggs or a smoothie bowl. You can also enjoy a glass of wine or come for a drink in the afternoon.
If you’re looking for gluten free waffles, Prague has just the place for you in Vinohrady!

1 Reviews on “Café Wafflé: Gluten Free Waffles in Prague 2”
We visited on a Sunday morning. The place was busy, so we were happy to have made a reservation. The staff was friendly and the girl who waited on us was very pleasant. We ordered two items from the menu and two of us filled out the build-your-own waffle sheet. One custom waffle was to be made from regular batter (the “classic waffle”) and the other needed to be gluten free, which we marked on the sheet (the “vegan gluten free waffle”). It took a long time to receive our order, perhaps because there were so many customers at the café that morning. When our order came, we double checked that the gluten free waffle is indeed gluten free. It’s a good thing we did. The server took the plate away with many apologies, explaining that the kitchen didn’t notice the checkmark next to the gluten free waffle option. What’s the learning here? 1) Always make sure that the meal that’s brought to you at any restaurant is really gluten free, and 2) Mark the “vegan gluten free waffle” option at Café Wafflé very clearly (circle it, write a note next to it, etc.) to reduce the chance that a mistake will be made in the kitchen. All in all, our experience was good. It’s certainly great to be able to have delicious gluten free waffles for breakfast!
