Grom: A Dedicated Gluten Free Ice Cream Shop in Prague

The Grom gelateria opened its first store in Prague in the summer of 2020. It is unique among the many Prague ice cream shops. You can certainly find some downright delicious, creamy gluten free gelato and ice cream in Prague. You can even have it in a gluten free cone sometimes. However, if you have to be careful about cross-contamination, you will probably want to make sure your gelato is really safe to eat. What if the flavor you asked for is placed in a tub right next to the Oreo cookie flavor? What if the gluten free cones are stacked with all the other cones and are not even wrapped? The place is busy. Does the server really pay attention to what cone she’s grabbing? Did she rinse the scoop after serving ice cream in a gluten cone to the customer ahead of you?

A GLUTEN FREE HAVEN

Fortunately, you can forget about all these concerns at Grom. You can have your authentic Italian gelato in a variety of fancy cones without having to check or wonder about cross-contamination. Why? Because everything in the store is gluten free. Everything. All the gelato and sorbet flavors, various kinds of cones, biscuits, brioche buns, hot chocolate, jams… Moreover, you can buy the packaged products and some gelato and sorbet tubs to go.

You’ll find Grom in the upper left part of Wenceslas Square when facing the National Museum. There are a few tables inside, so you can sit down and enjoy a break with your gluten free ice cream and coffee on your day out in Prague.
